This time I will be talking about some of my favorite websites. When I started writing them all down and saw how many there were I realized this is going to have to be a regular post. I do not want this first one to be too overwhelming so I am only going to talk about a few. There are so many more to come I think that I will blog about more in the future and continue as I find new sites. These websites are ones that I go to when I am feeling down about my work and I need a little kick in the butt to get inspired again. It is odd that a lot of them are wedding photographers websites, but they seem to be the busiest.
First, (for a reason): Poser (Erik Clausen)
So incredible. An amazing photographer. Pure photographs that show you what it was like to be there. Even when using his Canon G series compact camera his pictures are striking, well composed, and technically perfect. He was one of the first pros that I found and I fell in love with his work and have been following him (creepy) for a couple years now. You should find him in twitter too, you’ll be one of the first to know when he has a new blog post. Trust me, he is worth keeping up with.
Second, Jeff Newsom.
Jeff Newsom is awesome, hilarious, talented, and super creative. I love reading his tweets too, they are short and funny. He has a unique eye for composition and lighting, he can just see it. His subjects are always photographed superbly. Never one to produce a snapshot, even when taking a daily shot of one of his gorgeous kids, this guy produces art with every press of the shutter.
Third, Capture Studios.
I come here when I need a good cry. That may sound weird, or sad, but its a literal “good cry”. This company produces the most incredible wedding videos I have ever seen. They do more than weddings, but those are the ones that get me. You get to know each couple in a matter of 3 minutes or less and you can’t help but choke up. When Capture Studios posts a new video I lose a lot of time to the internet. I have to watch all their videos all over again. Emotion filled, beautifully produced story telling of a couple’s wedding day. Especially this one (which is placed on my bookmarks bar for quick launch) Gene + Jill // Two Pease in a Pod
I hope you enjoy my picks, and I hope they make you want to pick up a camera and try to capture some emotion!!
